About

Andrew Mosedale’s style is extraordinary, showing a propensity for creating truly interesting and unexpected images. He takes a cinematic, dream inspired approach to still photography. Producing ethereal, exquisitely framed, one-of-a-kind pieces that transform this reality into another. Evident in his artwork are the influences of architecture and oil painting, giving him a unique style as a photographer.

Andrew was born in Washington DC in 1974, and grew up on the water in Annapolis, Maryland. He started his career when he was a teenager, documenting sports. For years he shot exclusively large format film, mastering the dark room. He spent several years studying at the university level, and one-on-one with notable painters and photographers, but for the most part is self-taught for his genre. After a brief resistance to the digital age, Andrew embraced the movement toward digital photography. While the profession was evolving into something new, so was Andrew. His artwork gained a sophistication that could only happen over time and with the level of control the digital era allowed. Andrew’s skills and artwork are continually evolving and incorporating new media and ideas.

Photography isn’t Andrew’s only art form. He paints and creates mixed media pieces. He is also well known for hand constructing strange and unusual frames. Andrew’s artwork has received the attention of museums, critics, and serious collectors. It has been showcased in galleries across the United States, and nationally distributed publications. Additionally, Andrew is regularly commissioned for architectural photography of luxury property in the U.S. and in Europe.

Outside of the art world Andrew is both a teacher and student of Jiu Jitsu. He currently lives in Saint Augustine Florida. Feel free to browse the images in the gallery. You can rest assured that any selection you may make is a quality, hand-made work of art.
